We have gone on an adventure across the border to Lake Placid, New York. Yet again we have gone to a colder place, but are enjoying the snowy outdoors. This book is one of my brother's favorite cookbooks, and I figured this would be a good pick since we are staying with him, he is a chef, and we are being treated to a nice dinner tonight.
Day 27 - Young Voices of the Adirondacks by Nadine Balzer McLaughlin
Of course I had to check out the local public library! Lake Placid Public Library is like a maze, with winding hallways that open up into unexpected rooms filled with books. The back looks out onto a frozen lake, where we are going skating and tobogganing tomorrow. Two of my favorite books were an old copy of Moby Dick and a poetry book filled with poems from children in the area. I learnt that the mountains in this area are called the 'Adirondacks'.
