Since I happened to have a bag of books in my hand (on the way to visit a friend after having just cleaned up my overflowing bookcase) I opened it up, took a look inside and found a book that made me laugh - Why I hate Canadians by Will Ferguson. Inside is a sweet little stamp that says "Always a Gift...Little Free Library...Never for Sale" and the address, so that I can remember where I found it.
I replaced it with one of my books and after reading the lovely quote by Roald Dahl (written on the side of the box) went on my way with a ridiculous smile on my face.
"If you have good thoughts they will shine out of your face like sunbeams and you will always look lovely"
Lately I have found lots of these little libraries around my neighbourhood. Every one is different, but they all have had the same effect of making me smile and feel great about where I live. Plus I have found some quirky books that I might never have discovered.
So the next time I'm out walking my dog I will stuff a few books in my pockets to share - just in case I find a new, or revisit an old little library.
